Hi! I am Sara McNeil and I am in my 22nd year of teaching for the Hitchcock-Tulare School District. I am in my 9th year of teaching 7-12 Special Education. Along with teaching special education, I also enjoy teaching JH Reading and JH Writing. I love coaching the Patriot cross country and track teams!
After graduating from Tulare High School, I attended Northern State University where I majored in Elementary and Special Education. I taught grades Kindergarten-Four at Glendale Hutterite Colony for 13 years before moving into Tulare to teach at the junior high/high school. While in Tulare, I have also taught 7th grade math and a variety of junior high language arts classes.
My husband Dan and I have four children~Caleb, Carsten, Cullen, and Cambree. As a family, we enjoy being outside (camping and hiking) and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. I also love to run, read, crochet, and craft.
As a teacher, I believe strongly in challenging my students and helping them achieve their goals in and out of the classroom. I also believe it is important to educate all people on what Special Education is. My favorite part of being a teacher is seeing a student succeed at something that they previously thought was impossible.
