Hitchcock-Tulare School District

District 56-6

To empower students to enter the world as productive citizens.

Announcements

  • Good evening everyone. I hope you are doing well and are finding ways to stay healthy and active as we all find ourselves in a foreign situation and out of our normal routine. I was truly hoping this current situation would not become our new normal but unfortunately Governor Noem announced today that schools will remain closed through May 1st. That means we will have our doors closed for another 5 weeks. We will continue to do some flexible and/or distance learning throughout this time and our goal in that will be to make things as relevant and educationally productive as possible for students. Our goal as a school district will be to strive for quality and not just quantity. We will be meeting with staff via Zoom tomorrow to discuss what this will all look like at each level over the next few weeks so please be looking for specifics later in the week. Here are a couple announcements as we find our doors closed for an extended amount of time.

    • State testing for 2019-2020 has been cancelled.
    • Kindergarten Screenings scheduled for April 3rd have been postponed with a later date to be determined
    • Spring Sports/Activities have been cancelled through May 3rd
    • The HS Play scheduled for April 17th has been cancelled
    • The K-12 Spring Concert scheduled for May 7th has been cancelled.
    • All other activities scheduled in May as well as prom will be determined at a later time.

If you have any questions concerning these things please feel free to email me. Thank you for your efforts as we know this isn’t just overwhelming for schools but also for students and parents. I am confident that we will persevere through this trying times so please stay positive and keep your heads up.

    Respectfully,

    Jeff Clark, Superintendent

  • Good evening everyone. We hope you are all staying safe and appreciate all of your efforts and support as we navigate through this new and challenging situation. I wanted to take a couple of minutes and update you on a couple of things. All evening and extra-curricular activities for the Hitchcock-Tulare School District have been postponed or cancelled through April 5th. This does include Prom which we are working to get rescheduled. We also want people to know that once we return back to normal school we will be a 5 day week until school is out. We would still observe Good Friday as a day off but would be in school Easter Monday and all enhancement days would be full school days. Once again please stay safe and thank you for your understanding.

Welcome Message

  • It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Hitchcock-Tulare School District where we strive daily to provide opportunities for students to achieve success in academics, organizations, citizenship, athletics, fine arts, as well as many other areas. Our highly qualified teachers, staff, and administration work with students and parents to ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their highest potentials in an environment that is caring, supportive, and safe.

Credit must certainly be given to our School Board who has worked to become visionary leaders and are continually focused on making student-centered decisions. It has been my pleasure to work with these five individuals and feel that through good strategic planning we will continue to make improvements to our school system that will effectively impact student achievement and help us empower students to enter the world as productive citizens.

I am privileged and honored to serve as the Superintendent of the Hitchcock-Tulare School District. Few things provide as much professional enjoyment as I get from seeing the successes of our staff and students on a daily basis. We are fortunate to have schools in communities that place a high value on education and are willing to support our schools, staff, and students. We believe that through your shared support and commitment, we can challenge our students to be prepared for the ever-changing 21st Century. We look forward to working with you to achieve this goal.

    Jeff Clark, Superintendent
