The Patriots went to Wolsey for the Big Bo Classic to face the Kadoka Kougars. The 1st quarter went back and forth between the two teams, with the Kougars taking the lead at the end 16-15. Much of the same for the 2nd quarter, with both teams unable to find much offense. But Jackson Maynard was able to hit a 3 at the buzzer to cut the lead for the Kougars to 27-25 going into halftime. The Patriots were able to come out in the 3rd quarter and take a lead, using some good defense and some timely 3 point shots, 41-35. The 4th quarter came down to FTs , with the Patriots going 10 for 18 while the Kougars were unable to find enough offense to catch up. The Patriots won the game 57-49.
The Patriots had a huge game by Jackson Maynard with 28 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. The returning Brendan Nowell added 9 points and 1 rebound. Patrick Maynard scored 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. Blaze Binger added 5 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Erik Salmen scored 5 points as well, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. To finish out the scoring for the Patriots, Devin Enander had 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
The Patriots are now 2-2 on the season. They will travel to Iroquois to play the Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks on Tuesday, Jan 2nd in a 281 Conference matchup.
