We actually had a beautiful day in DeSmet. It didn't look promising with the wind and possible rain, but it was actually a nice day for track and field. The Boys got 11th out of 16 teams. Great effort Patriots!
Payton Chasing Hawk got 2nd in the 300M Hurdles with a time of 43.84 and he got 8th in the 200M with a PR of 24.34. Payton also got 6th in High Jump with a jump of 5'2".
Logan LaBrie got 4th in the 100M with a time of 11.54. He also got 6th in Long Jump with a PR of 19'3". Max Gilbert also got a PR in Long Jump.
Max Gilbert got 7th in the 800M with a time of 2:26.48.
Our 4X200 Relay team got 4th out of 12 teams with a time of 1:42.51. Logan LaBrie, Payton Chasing Hawk, Max Gilbert, Matthew Salmen.
Dalton Rathjen got 6th in Shot Put with a throw of 41'3.75" and got 7th in Discus with a throw of 127'5" a PR. Mikael Nielson PR'd.
In the 400M Matthew Salmen and Troy Hughes got PR's.
It is great to see our athletes competing so well early in the season. We have track meets in Onida/Sully Buttes on Tuesday and Redfield/Warner on Thursday this next week. We hope you enjoy/enjoyed your Easter weekend. Let's Go Patriots!
