The Patriots Track and Field team has been doing well the entire season, but even better since the last article was sent out. Last week was a busy week with two middle school meets and two varsity meets. Our athletes continue to improve on their own personal records and scoring well at our meets against quality competition. This week was the Huron middle school meet and our 281 Conference meet. In the heat and the wind our athletes overcame it all to achieve great things.
In our middle school meet our 7th grade girls finish 4th with the three double "A" schools finishing above us. Our 7th grade boys were fifth, 8th grade girls and boys were 6th; not all of our 8th graders competed in this meet.
Breckan Estey got 8th in the 100M dash with 5 others getting PR's. We had 4 other PR's on the girls side. Case Becker got 5th in the 200M dash, Mya Ross got 5th, Darryn Hoekman got 7th, and Krue Lutter got 7th. Chris Cardenas got 3rd in the 400M dash, Breckan Estey got 4th, Darryn Hoekman got 4th, and Krue Lutter got 3rd in their divisions. Case Becker got 3rd in 110M Hurdles. 4X100 relay Chris Cardenas, Xzander Logan, Brady Bixler, Carson VanBuskirk got 6th. Girls got 4th - Mya Ross, Darryn Hoekman, Peyton Eckhardt, Harper Fliehe. Girls Medley relay got 7th - Sybella Peterson, Keileigh Purcell, Jaylee Gilbert, Peyton Eckhardt. Carson Miles got 10th and 9th in shot and discus. Raya Cole got 8th in discus. Long jump was Case Becker and Carson Vanbuskirk 5th and 7th. Harper Fliehe got 9th and Krue Lutter got 7th. Great job Patriots!
Our 281 Conference competition was great. It was hot and windy, but successful none the less. We had school and meet records broken, numerous PR's, and overall a successful finish.
For the 100M dash - Logan LaBrie earned 1st and a PR, Payton Chasing Hawk got 3rd with a PR. Emmerie Arthurs got 1st and Emma Schneider got 2nd with both PR's. Logan LaBrie and Payton Chasing Hawk got 1st and 3rd in the 200M dash. Emmerie Arthurs got 2nd. RaeAnna Knock and Isabel Gilbert got 8th and 10th in the 400M dash. Max Gilbert got 10th in the 800M. Avarie Estey got 3rd in the mile run and Addy Ihnen got 6th and 3rd in the two mile; great job. Payton Chasing Hawk got 1st in the 300M Hurdles and Kaylie LaBrie got 6th. Our boys 4X100M relay got 6th Jaxson Felderman, Chris Cardenas, David Bixler, Brecken Estey. Our girls got 1st Emma Schneider, Keilee Schone, Emmerie Arthurs, Katelyn Schroeder. Same boys group got 6th in the 4X200M relay. Our girls got 6th Cambree Hoekman, Laina Puffer, Peyton Knox, Harper Fliehe. In the boys 4X400M relay we got 6th Jaxson Felderman, Chris Cardenas, Gentry Puffer, Brecken Estey. Girls got 5th Harper Fliehe, Laina Puffer, Paige McNeely, Krue Lutter. The 4X800M relay for our girls got 2nd RaeAnna Knock, Kaylie LaBrie, Addy Ihnen, Isabel Gilbert. The girls Medley got 7th Cambree Hoekman, Mya Ross, Laina Puffer, Avarie Estey. Mikael Nielson got 8th in the shot. Rebecca Huizenga and Ella Johnson got 2nd and 8th in the shot. Tucker Gilbert got 4th, Mikael Nielson got 7th and Troy Hughes got 9th in the discus. Ella Johnson got 2nd and Reganne Miles got 9th in the discus. Neil Salmen got 1st in the javelin and Patrick Maynard got 8th. Our girls Katelyn Schroeder, Ella Johnson got 2nd and 3rd, Keilee Schone and Rebecca Huizenga got 5th and 6th. Payton Chasing Hawk got 2nd, Patrick Maynard 7th, Gentry Puffer 10th in high jump. Emmerie Arthurs, Katelyn Schroeder, and Kaylie LaBrie got 4th, 5th, and 9th in High Jump. Tristan Nowell and David Bixler got 3rd and 4th in the Pole Vault. Peyton Knox got 3rd for the girls. Logan LaBrie and Max Gilbert got 2nd and 8th in the long jump. Emma Schneider, Katelyn Schroeder, Harper Fliehe, and Paige McNeely got 1st, 2nd, 8th, and 10th in the long jump. Logan LaBrie and Breckan Estey got 2nd and 9th in the Triple Jump. Emma Schneider, RaeAnna Knock, and Addy Ihnen got 1st, 3rd, and 5th in the Triple Jump.

Girl's Triple Jump - Emma Schneider 35'7.5" New 281 Meet and School Record from 2006.
Our Girl's team ended in 2nd place overall at the 281 Conference meet. We lost by 25 points. Our Boy's team was 5th. Top 5 spots were separated by 33.5 points.
Great Job by everyone. We had 7th grade through 12th grade competing at the 281 Conference meet and everyone worked hard. It was a great day for Patriots Track and Field. We finish up our regular season next week with a Varsity meet in Warner on Monday May 19, last Middle School meet in Ipswich on Tuesday May 20, and Super Region Varsity meet in Onida on Thursday May 22.
