The Lady Patriots kicked off the volleyball season Tuesday night by traveling to Redfield to take on the Pheasants. The ladies would take the match 3-1, by the scores of 25-21, 26-24, 21-25, and 30-28.

All four sets were close throughout the night.

Offensively, leading the team was Cora Hofer with 14 kills and Rebecca Huizenga added 11 kills. Gracyn Bixler also added 10 kills. Laina Puffer and Tess Bixler each chipped in 8 kills each.

Bixler did a great job of finding our hitters all night and recorded 33 assists.

Even though the Patriots served 86% from the line, there was quite a few aces recorded. Olivia Knox led the team with 4 aces. Emmerie Arthurs and Huizenga each chipped in 2 aces.

Defensively, Cambree Hoekman recorded a team high 29 digs. Gracyn Bixler and Arthurs both recorded double digit digs with 19 and 17 respectively. Hofer would also have a big night at the net with 4 block assists and 1 solo block. Tess Bixler also recorded 5 block assists.

The Patriots (1-0) will be right back in action on Thursday night as they travel down to James Valley Christian to open up the 281 Conference Season. JH will kick things off at 5:00, followed by JV and Varsity.
