The Patriots would end up splitting their two dual matches during this past homecoming week.
On Tuesday, the Patriots welcomed the Faulkton Trojans to Tulare to open up their home part of the schedule. The Patriots played almost a flawless match as they kept the Trojans out of system with their barrage of aggressive serving and powerful hits. The Patriots would sweep the Trojans in three straight sets by scores of 25-12, 25-19, and 25-6.
Leading the offensive threat was Emmerie Arthurs and Rebecca Huizenga each having 9 kills. Cora Hofer also chipped in 8 kills. The team recorded 5 service aces in the match with five different players each recording one ace. Gracyn Bixler tallied 29 assists.
Defensively, the ladies had a great showing as there were four Patriot players that recorded double digit digs. Cambree Hoekman led the way with 14, followed by Gracyn Bixler with 13, and Olivia Knox and Arthurs each had 10. Cora Hofer tallied 4 block assists and 1 solo block.
On Thursday night, the Patriots traveled to Wolsey to take on the Warbirds in a 281 conference clash. It was a different outcome for the Patriots as the errors piled up for the ladies throughout the night. The Warbirds would sweep the Patriots in three straight sets, by scores of 22-25, 17-25, and 20-25.
Huizenga tallied 13 kills in the contest. Hofer was right behind with 9 kills. Gracyn Bixler recorded 32 assists in the match. The team would only tally 3 aces in the match.
Defensively, Hoekman tallied 15 digs, Arthurs tallied 14, and Knox would add 13. Hofer and Tess Bixler would each add 3 block assists.
The Patriots (5-2) will be right back in action as they travel over to Clark to take part in the Clark-Willow Lake Tournament. They will have three straight matches staring at 9:00 a.m. as they play Deuel. They will also face off between Britton-Hecla and Florence-Henry to finish out pool play.
