Last week, we had the exciting opportunity to visit the ARCC for the high school exhibition and workshops. This year, students participated in three different workshops, gaining valuable experience in discussing their artwork and critiquing others. The workshop was hosted by the Dakota Prairie Museum in Aberdeen, SD. Any school in South Dakota is eligible to participate, with artwork judged collectively, without separation by class (AA, A, and B schools).
Congratulations to Sienna Stoner for receiving second place for her digital photo of a welder, and to Cambree Hoekman for securing second place for her linoleum block print!

Yesterday, third graders were given a tree to plant from the Beadle Conservation District.

Laina Puffer did her FCCLA project with the kindergarten class. She read the story The Live Monster to the students 3 weeks ago. The kids made monsters and the Freshman FACS class sewed the monsters. Today she delivered them.
South Dakota Visual State Art Competition Results
We are proud to announce the outstanding achievements of our junior high and high school students at the South Dakota Visual State Art Competition. Our talented artists have excelled in various categories, showcasing their creativity and hard work. Here are the results:
Addy Ihnen: 1st place in Mixed Media, 3rd place in Colored Drawing
Rylee Knock: 2nd place in Watercolor Painting
Cooper Cole: 3rd place in Functional Ceramics
Cambree Hoekman: 4th place in Printmaking
Sienna Stoner: 4th place in Photography
Isabel Gilbert: 4th place in Painting
Avarie Esty: 5th place in Traditional Art
Lainee Humphry: 5th place in Sculpture
Our school competed against 12 Class B schools with a total of 144 entries. As a team, we placed 4th overall. When considering all AA, A, and B schools, there were 380 pieces entered in the competition.

Due to the wind and cold, the JH track meet scheduled for today in Wessington Springs has been POSTPONED. It will be rescheduled for a later date.
Winter Awards Night will be held Monday, April 7 at the High School in Tulare. Come help us celebrate our Boys and Girls Basketball players and their accomplishments.

🏀 MARCH MADNESS 🏀
For the month of March, kindergarten-sixth grade students at the elementary school participated in a March Madness reading challenge.
Students kept track of the books they read throughout the month and hung up basketballs in the hallway. The top two readers from each grade were chosen to play in a basketball game against the teachers.
There were so many books read, AR tests taken, and points earned during the month.
The student vs. teachers basketball game was one to remember! The students, teachers, and fans had an amazing time watching the game.
Way to go H-T Elementary students! 🏀
